NEW - Wild turkey license plate on the horizon for the support of the Eastern Wild Turkey, continued development of its habitat, and celebrating 50 years of partnership with the National Wild Turkey Federation
The Massachusetts State Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation recently announced that a new license plate will soon be introduced in the Bay State, with the proceeds benefiting the Wild Turkey in Massachusetts, while allowing the Massachusetts State Chapter of the NWTF, a non-profit 501c3 established in 1983, the ability to continue assisting Mass Wildlife, and other like-minded organizations, with the mission of conserving and improving habitat development, partnering to acquire more open space, while securing the continued success of, arguably, the greatest conservation success story in the history of our state.
Since 2019, the Massachusetts State Chapter of NWTF has been working closely with the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV), to develop a Massachusetts wild turkey license plate. Now, our design, and the license plate itself, has been approved and is about to be seen, and hopefully supported by sportsmen and women, conservationists, and others who simply love having wild turkeys, in the Bay State.
The new license plate features and Eastern Wild Turkey created by the graphic designs department of the National Wild Turkey Federation. To get this specialty plate into production, they must first process 750 applications/orders into the RMV. Production will begin on the 750 plates when the order is completed, and the plates are paid for. The first 750 plates reserved will also carry a one-year paid membership to the NWTF.
The initial cost of the license plate will be a $40 special plate fee, the MA NWTF Chapter will retain $28 dollars of this amount. A $20 swap fee will also be required when your plates are ready. You’ll be notified by the RMV when your plates are being shipped, but remember, no plates will be produced until NWTF has 750 plates reserved, ordered, and paid for.
To learn more about this Special License Plate, talk to NWTF volunteers at the Springfield Sportsmen Show at the NWTF License Plate booth.
They’ll be happy to take your application, discuss the tax-deductible donation that accompanies the purchase of this new special plate, discuss reserving a lower numbered plate, or simply have a much broader discussion about the project.
