Jacob Maheu

 

 

Now a true 'master of metal arts', Jacob Maheu started forging knives back in 2009 while appreciating as a blacksmith at the Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield MA.

Knife making soon became his focus as he sweated out his creations over the open forge.

Early on he chose the path of hobby maker, never going full time, but soon realizing it as a hobby that is self-sustaining.

For Jacob it made the most sense to keep the passion alive and not turn it into a daily grind.

 

 

Almost 14 years later he's still at it and rapidly becoming a much sought after metal crafter!

 

His primary focus on building a select-few custom commissions a year simply for the joy of it keeps his work in demand. Recently, he started producing his own damascus steel for use in quality Chef knives. 
 

It has always been his priority to make beautiful useful tools for the outdoors and home, not just an 'art piece' to sit on a shelf.
 

We are pleased that he has chosen to bring his magnificent knives to the Springfield Sportsmen's Show so you too can own a working metal art tool!
